SAN LEANDRO, California, USA - Feb. 15, 2001 -- LIGHTech Fiberoptics, Inc. announced today the addition of the 1x16 switch module to its innovative LT-800 Series of optical switches. The 1x16 switch module will be presented, along with the full line of LIGHTech products and components, at the Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC) 2001 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., March 19-21. LIGHTech will be located at island #2658. "We are pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to improve their optical networking products through the utilization of these advanced optical switches," said LIGHTech Chief Operating Officer Tracy Scott. "The introduction of the 1x16 illustrates LIGHTech's continued commitment to product excellence." Now available in 1x3 through 1x16 configurations, the LT-800 Series delivers rapid switching speeds (15 ms, typical) with industry-leading insertion loss (0.6 dB, typical) and low TDL. This switch series is designed to meet Telcordia 1073 and 1221 performance and reliability standards, and combines high repeatability with low crosstalk (less than -70 dB). As part of the LIGHTech optical switch family, the LT-800 Series features the company’s innovative package design, with all fibers and control connections co-positioned on the end of the module, thereby allowing greater flexibility in board placement. To further meet the demanding requirements of specific telecom and datacom applications, the LT-800 is available in latching or non-latching configurations. LT-800 Series applications include optical performance monitoring, fiber network management and manufacturing test and measurement. Like all LIGHTech optical switches, the LT-800 series features patented, reflective optics technology, 0 to 65 °C operation, and functions under TTL control. These switch modules are compact in design, enabling space-efficient utilization.
